About lawn mower finance
How a mower gets funded depends on the machine, how you use it and where you are buying it from. Here is how each of those works.

How it works
Lawn mower finance is funding used to pay for a mower, then repaid over an agreed term. How it is structured follows how the machine is used. A mower for a home property is commonly funded as personal lending, which sits alongside the rest of our personal finance range. A machine used predominantly in a business is commonly funded as equipment finance or under a chattel mortgage, where the business owns the asset from day one. Lenders take their own view of what counts as predominant business use, and you do not need to work any of this out before you contact us. Tell us what you are buying and how you plan to use it, and we take that into the arrangement.

The structure
Terms are set by the lender and commonly run over several years, depending on the machine and how long you expect to keep it working. A deposit is not always required, though putting money in can change the shape of the repayments. A balloon or residual is a feature available on some structures, which lowers the regular repayment and leaves an amount owing at the end of the term. Our repayment calculator gives you an estimate with no obligation, and we set out what each structure means for your situation before you decide anything.

New or used
Both are commonly financed. On a used machine the age and the hours matter, because most lenders set a limit on how old the machine can be when the term ends, not when you buy it. That can shorten the term available on an older machine. Demo and ex-hire machines count as used. Tell us the machine and its hours and we will tell you what it changes.

Where you buy
A dealer purchase is the most straightforward. Private sales and clearing sales bring some extra steps, from a PPSR check on the machine through to the bill of sale, and we handle that side of it. Once the deal settles, the lender or funder pays the seller directly.

Am I eligible?
Eligibility depends on your circumstances and on the individual lender. We work with over 20 lenders on our panel, and criteria vary between them. Tell us your situation and we will do the work from there.
Exploring your situation with us does not require a formal credit application. If you decide to proceed, we explain exactly what is involved first.
Some of the things a lender will typically look at:
• Whether you own or rent your home
• Whether you are employed or run your own business
• How long you have been in your role or held your ABN
• Your credit history
• Your residency status
• Any finance you have held previously
• Your assets, liabilities, expenses and savings
• How you plan to use the machine
If you have questions about whether you are eligible, just ask. Talk to us and we will give you a straight answer.

Range & Equipment
Mowers we commonly arrange finance for
From a walk behind on a suburban block to a zero turn on forty acres, mowers across the range are commonly financed. Tell us what you are looking at and we work with it.

Ride on mowers
Seated machines for blocks too big to walk. You sit on it and drive, with the cutting deck underneath. Sizes vary a lot, so the right one depends on how much ground you cover.

Zero turn mowers
Each rear wheel drives on its own, so the machine turns on the spot. That means mowing around trees and beds without reversing, and covering ground faster than a ride on.

Walk behind and self propelled
Push mowers you walk behind, and self propelled models that drive their own wheels. You steer rather than push, which helps on slopes and on lawns that take a while.

Lawn tractors and out-front mowers
Built for large open areas like acreage and ovals. On an out front mower the deck sits ahead of the wheels, so it reaches under fences and around edges as you go.

Commercial mowers
Made for daily use rather than the weekend. Heavier decks, stronger drive systems and parts built to take long hours in the seat, season after season.

Robotic mowers
Mow on their own inside a boundary you set, then return to a charging dock. Best suited to an area that stays the same shape, so it can run to a set schedule.
Who it suits
Who we arrange mower finance for
We arrange mower finance for both personal and business use.
If you are on this list, we can help.
Homeowners
with acreage

The house block, the driveway edges and the paddock behind. A machine that handles that ground costs more than most people want to pay in one go, so it gets financed.
Lawn mowing rounds

Twenty or thirty properties a week, on and off the trailer all day. When the machine stops the round stops, so most operators finance the replacement before that happens.
Landscapers and grounds maintenance

The mower shares the trailer with blowers, trimmers and the rest of the kit. Financing it separately keeps cash free for the other gear the crew needs.
Councils, schools and sports grounds

Ovals, verges and surrounds on a roster that does not move. Financing means the machine turns up when the schedule needs it, not when the budget catches up.
Golf clubs and caravan parks

Fairways, surrounds and open areas, mowed early with two or three machines going. Financing lets the fleet be staged over time instead of replaced all at once.
Farms and rural properties

Slashing, firebreaks before summer, and keeping the house paddock down. The mower competes with every other machine for capital, so financing keeps that free.
